In fact, it might actually take up to three months' worth of work just to increase a site's ranking by even one level.


And if you are bold enough to actually take on the SEO work yourself, you'll be in for a lot of surprises. For one, there are actually a lot of rules that you need to follow in order to get your desired position. One of the most impurtant rule that you need to go by here is that links and keywords matter in everything you do. Indeed, even the popular “Content is king” adage that is known many optimizers would often fall behind in terms of priorities in order for sites to get more links.

However, this does not mean that you have to let go of the above saying. In fact, in order to get the the best links that will get you the high ranks in the search engines, you need to give good content in order to attract links. This actually goes hand in hand with a good optimization strategy.

But you need to be very prepared on this one too. As it turns out, in the world of search engine optimization, there is no such thing as the single best strategy. In fact, while there are a lot of strategies that you can try out, not all of these would often work for your needs. Thus, in some cases, you would actually have to come up with your own working strategy.
